The Journalist Support Committee in Yemen condemns the bombing of the Al-Hodeidah radio station by Saudi-Led Coalition

The Journalist Support Committee condemns - in the strongest terms - the continued targeting of the Yemeni media outlets by the Saudi-Led Coalition, the latest of which was the bombing of Al-Hodeidah radio station headquarters on Sunday, 16 September 2018.

In a series of indiscriminate raids targeting the province of Hodeidah, Al-Hodeidah radio station was subjected to heavy airstrikes which killed three guards and one of its employees, in addition to the serious damage to the building, the committee stressed that these repeated crimes against the Yemeni media, media outlets and journalists rise to war crimes.

The Journalist Support Committee noted that the attempts of the Saudi-led coalition to continue targeting Yemeni media institutions are aimed to restrict journalists and discourage them from continuing their role in uncovering violations of the coalition against the Yemeni people.

The Committee calls on international and human rights institutions to intervene to end impunity and the continued policy of targeting Yemeni media outlets and to call for the immediate establishment of a commission of inquiry to investigate the violations and crimes of the coalition that have been escalating for more than three years against journalists and media outlets.

The Committee urges the media to highlight the violations of the Saudi-Led Coalition against Yemeni journalists and media outlets, while calling on Yemeni media professionals to carry out their national and professional duties and expose the crimes of the Saudi-led coalition to public opinion.
